At GEM, we are proud to announce our participation in the 2024 Mining Mission, a joint effort led by the Chile Australia Chamber of Commerce (Auscham) and the National Mining Society (SONAMI), aimed at strengthening trade relations and collaboration in the mining sector between Chile and Australia.
First Meeting at the Residence of the Australian Ambassador in Chile
The inaugural event of this mission took place at the residence of Andrew Martin, Australian Ambassador to Chile, where various leading companies in the mining sector gathered. Among the participants were CODELCO, AndesMETS, Vantaz Group, Pares & Alvarez, WOMEN IN MINING CHILE (WIM Chile), and other key organizations that make up the delegation. We were also honored to have the distinguished presence of Suina Chahuan Kim, Undersecretary of Mining, who highlighted the importance of this collaboration for the sector’s development.
During the event, the participants discussed opportunities for innovation, knowledge exchange, and cooperation that will emerge throughout 2024, and the strong ties between Chile and Australia as global mining powers were reaffirmed.

The 2024 Mining Mission will continue its journey in Sydney, Australia, where we will take part in the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC), one of the most important events in the global mining industry. This event will be an invaluable opportunity to exchange experiences, establish new strategic partnerships, and explore the latest trends in sustainable mining and technological innovation.
Thanks to the organization by Auscham and SONAMI, the mission includes a series of activities designed to strengthen the network between service providers, mining companies, and government entities from both countries. Key participants of the delegation include companies such as LMA | Lagos Maclean Abogados, WeTechs, AndesMETS, and many more.
